Rudolph is an incredible song (and story),
Especially in light of its economy of words.
In some ways it reminds me of Barry Manilow’s Coco Cabana. Both songs tell a vivid and detailed story upon listening. But when you look at the lyrics you’ll be stunned by how few words each song has. That in a nutshell is the magic of songwriting. Less is more in too many ways to count. Or rather, to paraphrase Occam’s Razor, write a song in as few words as possible, but never fewer. Or maybe that’s not Occam’s Razor. For the record I never understood Occam’s Razor. But I do understand Rudolph. Rudoph, I know you’re out there, and thank you for all you’ve done.” #RudolphRocks
