And like all Bobby Angel songs, there’s always an interview after the song is done, and usually by the crackle of the same campfire where the song was sung. Bobby Angel isn’t saying his interview says everything about how the song was written and what it means, but in the spirit of the Nature Folk tradition, isn’t there always something to be said, and discussed and dissected after the fact. The truth of the matter is that songs sort of write themselves. And so you lay them down as best you can with paper and pen and then your guitar and voice, but who’s to say that’s the final word. The best songs evolve and get reinterpreted as time goes by.
