The key to being productive …
Is getting things done.
As obvious as that sounds, it’s actually a complicated theory.
How so? Getting things done is hard. It involves discipline, it also involves just the opposite. Letting go. Not being perfect. Get it done and move on. Move on to where? The next song, of course. You have to free your mind and plate. Letting half-done songs (or half-done anythings) pile up will bog you done. That’s in part why a Bobby Angel song is never perfect out of the gate. It’s only in performing a song that it starts to become fully formed.
At least that’s my theory, for now.
